About the P08: The Sprint Filter P08 features an 80-micron filtration rating and delivers an impressive 5,000 l/m²/sec. airflow, making it an extremely versatile air filter for both street and performance applications. Dyno testing on a 1,000cc four-cylinder motorcycle without ECU remapping demonstrated gains of approximately 2.5 horsepower in the mid-range, providing stronger acceleration and improved throttle response. The P08 is available for a wide range of motorcycles and scooters.

Polyester – A Winning Technology: An air filter must accomplish two opposing tasks: maximize airflow while preventing harmful particles from entering the engine. While most OEM motorcycles use paper filters and many aftermarket performance filters rely on oiled cotton, Sprint Filter's patented polyester membrane technology delivers superior airflow while maintaining excellent filtration, making previous filter technologies largely obsolete.

Structure: Sprint Filter's polyester fabric is highly permeable, exceptionally strong, and maintains its shape throughout manufacturing, operation, and maintenance. Unlike cotton filters, whose filtration depends on multiple overlapping layers that can deform over time, polyester maintains a consistent structure, providing uniform filtration across the entire filter surface and eliminating weak spots commonly found in cotton filters.

Steel Mesh: Sprint Filter pioneered the use of epoxy-coated steel mesh to support the polyester membrane. Compared to traditional aluminum mesh, the steel wire construction provides a larger open area (80% vs. 66%), improved structural strength, higher airflow, and no significant increase in weight thanks to the thinner wire diameter. It also offers a cleaner appearance with reduced polyurethane seepage around the filter media.

"Water-Resistant" Tissues: Sprint Filter is the only manufacturer in the world to offer patented water-resistant polyester air filters for internal combustion engines. This exclusive technology allows the filter to perform reliably in wet and demanding riding conditions while maintaining exceptional airflow and filtration.

Air Flow: Sprint Filter's polyester material delivers substantially higher airflow than both OEM paper filters and traditional cotton filters. Unlike cotton filters, whose airflow depends on the number of fabric layers used, polyester provides consistently high airflow throughout its service life. More Air = More Power.

Filtration: The precision manufacturing of the polyester membrane ensures the stated filtration rating remains consistent over time. Cotton filters contain irregular openings ranging from only a few microns to several hundred microns. As a result, new cotton filters provide relatively poor filtration and only improve after dirt accumulates on the surface, which also significantly increases airflow restriction. Sprint Filter polyester media provides consistent filtration without the dramatic pressure increase associated with cotton filters.

Efficiency: Independent dyno testing has confirmed the benefits of reduced airflow restriction. Testing on a 1,000cc four-cylinder motorcycle equipped with a Sprint Filter P08 (without ECU remapping) showed increased mid-range torque, approximately 2.5 additional horsepower, and improved throttle response.

In addition, engineering students at Trinity Saint David Swansea University tested several of the most popular motorcycle air filters using a SuperFlow flow bench. Their testing showed that Sprint Filter's polyester media delivered the highest airflow, outperforming cotton and foam filters. Microscopic examination also demonstrated the superior uniformity and consistency of Sprint Filter's polyester membrane.

Maintenance: Proper air filter maintenance is essential for engine performance and longevity. Unlike cotton filters, Sprint Filter polyester filters require no oiling, no specialized cleaning kits, and minimal maintenance.

For normal cleaning:

• Blow compressed air through the filter opposite the direction of airflow.
• Reinstall the filter.

For heavily contaminated filters:

1. Clean with compressed air.
2. Soak in a household detergent solution for 15–30 minutes.
3. Gently agitate the filter.
4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
5. Allow the filter to air dry completely.
6. Reinstall.

Do not apply filter oil.
